Path of Exile has seven playable characters, but only six are originally unlockable. The seventh, the Scion, could be rsgoldfast unlocked by rescuing her from a cage at the Upper Scepter of God region of Act 3.
Picking your first character is vital, but not too big a deal as in additional Diablo-style games. Path of Exile provides an unusually high number of character slots, which means it is possible to play and change between all seven types if you so choose. Also, the time-limited nature of leagues (which we'll describe below) and the likelihood that you might unwittingly create a faulty character build the first time you play all mean you will most likely be creating new personalities before too long anyhow.
Adhere to a character construct, but don't sweat it if you're creating your own way
Many players prefer to create their own distinct character build the first time they perform, experimenting with different passive skills. But if you do so, keep in mind that full-character respecs aren't an option in Path of Exile. You will make a limited number of respec points through natural development and grinding, but not too many that quickly transforming one build to another is a viable choice.
Therefore, my advice is to follow a well-regarded build created by experienced players. This may focus your character development and make certain you have an endgame viable character once the time comes. Here are a few fast beginner-friendly build recommendations (current as of launch).
If you are making your own build, be sure that you understand these features of the passive power tree: Beginning Areas: Your character begins with things in a specific area, but you can also feel free to work towards additional courses' nodes. Paths: Much of the ability three consists of paths that offer a +10 bonus to one of those 3 core stats. Try to pick up the stat you'll need as you work towards other features on the tree. Clusters: Groups of similarly themed nodes, frequently with an icon at the middle of them. Clusters come in many sizes and often have a gold-colored skill that is especially powerful and desirable. Keystones: Unique nodes which change the equilibrium of game mechanics to your character. Every one has an incredible enthusiast but also a substantial penalty to consider.
