BEIJING, June 6 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of Chinese technological wonders including the world's fastest computer is China's latest move to make science and technology seem less remote from people's lives.
The showcase of domestic achievements during the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015) concludes in Beijing on Tuesday after wowing crowds since June 1.
It has featured more than 800 items in fields like intelligent driving, deep-sea diving, robot surgeons, and the BeiDou navigation system.
"We used to only see moon landings in foreign blockbusters, but this exhibition enlightens us that China has grasped cutting-edge technology as well. This is such a great event, I believe it can build up kids' devotion toward our nation," science enthusiast Sun Miaoke said at the exhibition.
Zhang Zequan, 8, was unable to contain his excitement when seeing the return capsule of an unmanned lunar orbiter retrieved from in Inner Mongolia in November 2014. "This is really cool!" Zhang said.
His father took him on a simulator of astronauts' experiences in the Tiangong-1 space lab.
"It's more than visiting a science show," Zhang Zequan's father said. "My son was overwhelmed by what he has seen. It helps the young to get a better understanding of our mother country's real power."
In the other corner of the exhibition, the Tianhe-2 supercomputer attracted a large crowd.
Tianhe-2, which means "Milky Way-2" in Chinese, can operate at 33.86 petaflops per second, the equivalent of 33,860 trillion calculations per second.
"It is driving multiple industries and sci-tech projects. It can handle high levels of analyzing, computing and processing," Yuan Xuefeng, director with the National Supercomputer Center, said in a previous interview with Xinhua.
The supercomputer has been used in national priority projects covering energy, bioscience, pollution control and high-speed rail design.
"High technology is not far away. It will become reachable in our lives," said Li Zhaoxin, a science fiction researcher at the show. "Innovations like 3D printing have brought tremendous change. The more progress we achieve, the stronger support it will give to the rise of our nation."
Audi seems to be the master at mass producing, if the amounts of new cars they have released recently are anything to go by. One of these is the Audi A5 Sportback. The first word I could think of when I first saw this car with its five doors, extremely long body and dark grey exterior finish and sleek body was ?handsome?. It truly is a good looking car Cheap Darren Helm Jersey , and while if I?m to be picky, I?m not a fan of the rear which seems a bit over compensatory for something unnecessarily, it looks like the kind of thing an executive would have as their company car, and there?s definitely a sense of self importance when you see this car Cheap Martin Frk Jersey , whether it be driving on the road or sat in the driveway. Getting a car that says what you want it to say to the world can almost be as important as the actual function of it. If you want to tell the world you mean business, I?d recommend this A5.
If you want to know the difference between the A5, the A4 and the A6, The A5 is longer Cheap Luke Glendening Jersey , lower and wider than that of the A4. The A6 on the other hand is mid sized in comparison and nowhere near as dominating as the A5 on the road. This model was released and then almost immediately followed by the coupe and the cabrio which are a little bit smaller, and therefore slightly less domineering. Their presence is still felt on the road though the drive of self importance evident. This car is definitely a man?s car. Not just in looks but also in how it runs. I can?t imagine it would be a woman?s first choice of car. I think Audi supplies for women adequately with the TT, but with the newer A5s, the structure of the body Cheap Henrik Zetterberg Jersey , even to the way they have set out the interior, everything about it screams male.
With that long body, it?s natural to expect it to be roomy in the back, and it doesn?t disappoint. The amount of leg room would be adequate even for those over 6ft whether you?re the driver Cheap Anthony Mantha Jersey , front passenger or in the back. Back seats are notorious in my experience for being a little uncomfortable and the main place where you are the most likely to get car sick. However the back is so comfy, with Audi catering for every need; too cold? Heated seats, too warm? Air conditioning, too low? Height adjustment is catered for along with the standard back and forth movement the front seats have. So if you?re making a long journey or need to pick somebody up Cheap Jimmy Howard Jersey , you don?t have to worry about whether they will be comfortable or not. I?d be very surprised if they weren?t.
