Tracking Josh Allen's rise to potential No. 1 Allen grew up in the tiny town of Firebaugh, California, and excelled as a multi-sport athlete - which didn't help his college prospects. While the state's best QBs were showing themselves off at https://www.jamaladamsjerseysale.com/authentic-josh-mccown-jersey-sale-1_84.html camps, Allen played https://www.jamaladamsjerseysale.com/authentic-geno-smith-jersey-sale-1_63.html basketball and baseball, never committing 100 percent to football. As a result, he fell through the cracks and struggled to generate interest from Division I recruiters.Firebaugh is less than an hour away from Fresno State College, where Allen hoped to play college football. The Bulldogs didn't want him.Via <h2>Julian Stanford Authentic Jersey</h2> the Casper Star Tribune:"Back in the day, Josh wanted to be a Fresno State Bulldog as much as you could want anything," [Firebaugh principal Anthony] Catalan said. And Allen's advocates made sure that Fresno State was aware of him. Allen's high school coach, Bill Magnusson, pitched his former quarterback to then-Fresno State offensive coordinator Dave Schramm."He said, 'Well, we're kind of looking for a little bit bigger guy,'" Magnusson said. "Josh (was) 185 pounds and 6-foot-3. He said, 'If he's 6-3, we kind of want him to be about 210, a little more physical, a little more muscle.'"Fresno State didn't offer Allen a scholarship, though, and he didn't receive an offer from any other Division I program. With no other options, Allen went to Reedley College, about 60 miles east of his hometown, in the fall of 2014. He didn't start until Week 5, but in six games Allen threw for 2,055 yards, 25 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, and also rushed for 660 yards and 10 touchdowns.Via The Fresno Bee:"If I didn't have to go (to community college), I wouldn't have," Allen said. "I had no Division I offers, and I really felt like I was a Division I football player. Going the JUCO route helped me get to the situation I wanted."An excellent 2017 ESPN story recounted Allen's desperate search for any Division I school that would have him. Allen sent more than 1,000 emails to coaches and programs around the nation begging people to take a look at him, and he'd eventually receive two offers from Wyoming and Eastern Michigan.By this time, Allen had gone through a late growth spurt and more closely resembled the prototype quarterback he is today. Allen had hit the 210 number Fresno State desired, and grown two more inches to 6-foot-5.Allen's connection to Wyoming actually began when a Wyoming coach, David Brown, visited Reedley College to recruit one of Allen's teammates.Via The Fresno Bee:"I stopped by and [Allen's coach] kind of let me know they had this freshman kid that's a helluva football player. 'You should probably check https://www.jamaladamsjerseysale.com/authentic-curtis-martin-jersey-sale-1_36.html him out because nobody knows about him,' " Brown recalled. "So he gave me the film and the name - and right away when he said the name, I'm like, 'I didn't know Josh Allen went there. I thought he went to a four-year school.'"Allen opened his first season with Wyoming second on the QB depth chart, but came in as a sub in Week 1. Allen made his first start for Wyoming against the program that withdrew a scholarship offer for him, Eastern Michigan, but suffered a broken collarbone during the game that ended his year.Allen took over as the starter in Wyoming for the 2016 season, and he led the Cowboys to an 8-6 record and their first bowl berth since 2011. Allen finished the year with 3,203 passing yards, a completion percentage of 56.0, 28 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, and the Cowboys fell in the Poinsettia Bowl.Allen's potential was just beginning to give him a national profile, and he had the option of declaring for the 2017 NFL Draft. Allen told his girlfriend and his parents that he would leave Wyoming for the NFL after the season ended, but reversed his decision after receiving advice from his coach, Craig Bohl, and Eagles star Carson Wentz.Via ESPN:"One thing that Wentz said especially struck a chord with Josh: "He told me that I'd be stepping into a locker room full of 35-year-old men with families and children, who would be depending on me to win games and help secure their jobs."After announcing his decision to stay in college in January, Allen was projected as a potential top prospect for the 2018 Draft.Via NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah:"Allen has the highest ceiling of the entire group. I struggle to come up with a good player comparison for him. He's way ahead of Chiefs first-round pick Patrick Mahomes from a development standpoint and I think he has a much higher upside. I think he's a more athletic version of Flacco."On the 2017 draft broadcast, Adam Schefter reported that at least one NFL executive had pegged Allen as the top pick in 2018.The Cowboys lost a number of key players following Allen's first full year as a starter, and he struggled to carry an often overmatched team on his own. At first (and second) glance, Allen's numbers hardly look like that of a generational talent, and his accuracy problems are particularly troubling.Via SI:"The junior's completion percentage, 56.2%, is just a fraction better than it was last year, while his yards per attempt (6.61, down from 8.59) and passer rating (124.0, down from 144.9) have taken a dive. In two games against Power 5 foes, his Cowboys took double-digit losses and he threw three picks without a touchdown pass. And in an era where 500-yard games are normal for quarterbacks, Allen has cracked 250 once this season-against Gardner-Webb, an FCS program that hasn't beaten a Division I opponent in 2017."Allen and the Cowboys did cap the season with a win in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, going 8-5 on the year. One person who isn't concerned about Allen passing for 1,400 fewer yards in his second year? Mel Kiper Jr., for one.The king of mock drafts, ESPN expert Mel Kiper, projected Allen to go first overall to the Browns and has held firm to that prediction in his draft revisions over the past few months.Via ESPN:"His numbers aren't impressive, I know. But the NFL is all about projection, and he has a high ceiling. Coaches want to work with the 6-foot-5 Allen because he has all of the tools."Allen is the type of player made for the combine, and he delivered all the measurables NFL teams crave with a 4.75-second 40, ridiculous hand size and the ability to chuck 60-yard bombs down the field.Allen had been holding position near the top of everyone's mock draft - but a last-minute incident on the eve of the draft may end up hurting his stock. Yahoo published a number of offensive tweets from 2012 and 2013 that included racial slurs, which Allen acknowledged and apologized for. In his final mock draft on Thursday morning, Mel Kiper dropped Allen from his No. 1 slot, replacing him with Baker Mayfield.MORE:What time does the 2018 NFL Draft start? Why an amateur golfer wrote a hilarious letter to rule himself out of the Ryder CupLaVar Ball https://www.jamaladamsjerseysale.com/authentic-leonard-williams-jersey-sale-1_96.html is pulling sons out of Lithuania: 'We're not going to waste our time'Jared Goff went undercover to prank a college team as the new QB transferNike Joe Namath Jersey On Sale Jace Amaro Jersey Jarvis Jenkins Jersey Spencer Paysinger Jersey Josh McCown White Elite Jersey Brent Qvale Jersey Marcus Williams Jersey Devon Still Jersey Brandin Bryant Jersey Jermaine Kearse Jersey Kellen Davis Jersey Bilal Powell Jersey Cheap Dexter McDougle Jersey Darrelle Revis White Elite Jersey Nike Robby Anderson Jersey On Sale Sheldon Richardson Jersey Javarius Leamon Jersey Jordan Jenkins Jersey Zach Sudfeld Jersey
