Penalty recap: Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills In a narrow victory over the Tennessee Titans Womens Kelvin Benjamin Jersey , the Buffalo Bills helped themselves out by keeping the flags at bay. role in not handing it all away. Traditional and Advanced MetricsPenalty countFor the second week in a row, the Bills fall well below the league average in assessed count. The Titans were right behind them with both teams having a clean game. The only shift when it comes to total flags is one declined penalty on the Bills. The league average for both assessed and thrown flags continues to creep down each week. Penalty yardsThere’s very little additional story to tell when it comes to yards. As would be expected, both teams fall under the assessed average by a significant margin, with the Bills putting in a slightly better performance than the Titans. For true yards, the Bills wiped out a five-yard gain—and that was it for yards affected by penalty for the entirety of the game. Penalty HarmTennessee TitansNot only were the Titans good at keeping their count low, but none of the penalties are especially egregious. A delay of game and neutral-zone infraction were strictly the five-yards-each variety, or 0.5 Harm. Ben Jones’ offensive holding was yardage-only as well (ten yards or 1.0 Harm). Kamalei Correa was called for unnecessary roughness (see below). As it came on first down. This, too, was yardage only for 1.5 Harm. The only penalty on the Titans with a deeper story to tell was the defensive holding called on DaQuan Jones. As it came on second down, it gave the Bills a free down in addition to the five yards for 1.5 Harm. The Titans ended the day with a total of 5.0 Harm. This translates to a very good day on the penalty front. I know the GIF is suggesting that maybe this wasn’t a good call but that’s just having a little fun with it. Josh Allen threw the ball away well before the contact and Correa has no reason to be anywhere near Allen, let alone making contact. From the first angle I think there’s a good case to hold the flag. From the ref’s angle, though Youth Matt Milano Jersey , you gotta pull it. I’m not saying he oversold the shove, but this is the same Josh Allen who walked around with a defender draped over his legs a couple weeks ago. Buffalo BillsDeon Lacey was called for offside on a kickoff. The Titans elected to take the five yards after the return. Tre’Davious White was flagged for holding. On first down it was yards only. John Miller’s hold was declined as the pass attempt on 3rd-and-9 fell incomplete. Two calls seemed a little odd live, so lets take a look. Apologies for the yellow circle in the middle. The best angle available was via the broadcast feed and it has the marking from the broadcast team. This one looks like a terrible call on the surface as Dion Dawkins’ shove at the end is not only within the rules but good form. In real time though, that right arm could easily look like it’s swinging and clubbing the head of Correa. Making things more complicated, recall this occurred almost immediately after Correa shoved Josh Allen, meaning the refs were on high alert for retaliation. Does that make this the right call? No. But in context it’s an understandable one. This seems like complete BS. Under the false start rules it prohibits an offensive player from any abrupt movement that “simulates the start of the snap.” More importantly, the NFL rules direct the officials to call this when there is “quick abrupt movement.” Furthermore, this is supposed to be called on any obvious attempt by a player set to receive the snap (like Allen is) to draw an opponent offside. This 4th-and-3 play surely felt like an attempt to draw the Titans offside. Allen’s hands do appear to simulate him preparing for the ball and this flag does match up with the rule. That being said, how often does this go uncalled? This penalty is the rare intersection where “technically correct” meets “still bullcrap.” The Bills closed shop with an insanely low 3.5 Harm and a win, so maybe we can move past it.Buffalo Bills fantasy football recap: Josh Allen leads the way The 0-2 Buffalo Bills are not exactly a popular roster to mine for fantasy football talent. However, after last week’s 20-point showing against the Los Angeles Chargers, there are signs that indicate there are some players who may become useful as the season progresses.Just a week after the team’s leading scorer was a backup quarterback who totaled only 5.56 points, the Bills had six players surpass that total against the Chargers. Zay Jones caught 2 passes for 63 yards Womens Zay Jones Jersey , with the majority of that total coming on a 57-yard bomb from Allen in the second quarter. He was fifth on the team with 7.3 fantasy points on the afternoon. LeSean McCoy also had a better day, though it still wasn’t up to his usual standard. McCoy had 9 carries for 39 yards, 27 of which came on one third-quarter jaunt. He added 4 receptions for 29 yards, good for 8.8 fantasy points.Kelvin Benjamin caught 2 of 3 targets for 19 yards and a touchdown during fourth quarter garbage time action. That stat line was good for an 8.9-point day for Benjamin, who is not performing well in a contract year. Granted, the Bills’ quarterback situation isn’t doing anyone any favors, but Benjamin’s performance has still been disappointing. Here were the top three Bills in fantasy scoring for Week two:QB Josh AllenThe rookie tops the list for the second week in a row, coming in at 15 fantasy points on the day. He threw for 245 yards and a touchdown, adding 32 rushing yards. He also threw 2 interceptions on the day, meaning that his day could have been even better. While Allen is by no means a must-play in fantasy, you could certainly do worse than him when bye weeks start rolling. Allen is available in 98% of Yahoo! leagues.RB Chris IvoryOne of two backups to LeSean McCoy, the veteran Ivory capitalized on a short-yardage opportunity to score the first Bills touchdown of the season. While he could remain a touchdown vulture for McCoy even when Shady, who suffered cracked rib cartilage in the loss on Sunday Womens Kyle Williams Jersey , is fully healthy, he might be a smart add for the time being while McCoy overcomes the injury. Ivory carried the ball twice for only 7 total yards, but one of those totes was a 1-yard scoring plunge. He added 1 reception for 30 yards on the afternoon to bring his fantasy point total to 10.2 for the day. Available in 95% of Yahoo! leagues, he might be a popular add this week if McCoy misses practice time.K Stephen HauschkaBuffalo’s kicker bounced back after a rough Week one. He made two longer field goals, hitting from 43 and 40 in the first half, so if your league awards extra points for those kicks, then each field goal was worth 4 fantasy points instead of 3. He added 2 extra points, good for a 10-point day overall. That’s not a bad number from the kicker slot, and it was good for fourth at his position this week. If your fantasy kicker is the injured Greg Zuerlein (like me), you’d be wise to add Hauschka if your league is among the 97% of Yahoo! leagues where he is available.
