KABUL Justin Reid Jersey , April 2 (Xinhua) -- The ongoing conflict and militancy have killed 15 militants in northern Afghanistan and 15 de-miners have been kidnapped in the western Herat province over the past 24 hours, officials said Saturday.


The security forces in crackdown against militants in the northern Kunduz province have killed eight armed insurgents, an army spokesman in the province, Nasratullah Jamshidi confirmed.


""Eight Taliban militants have been killed and 10 others sustained injuries as government forces targeted Taliban hideouts in parts of the northern Kunduz province on Saturday,"" Jamshidi told Xinhua.


The operations, according to the official Benardrick McKinney Jersey , have covered Alchin and Taloki areas outside provincial capital the Kunduz city and would last for several days.


Meantime, Zabihullah Mujahid who claims to speak for the Taliban, confirmed fighting with security forces in Taloki area outside Kunduz city, claiming the militants destroyed two battle tanks on Friday, inflicting casualties on government soldiers.


However, Jamshidi disputed Taliban's claim Kevin Johnson Jersey , saying no security personnel has been hurt in the area over the past two days.


In a similar incident, the security forces have killed seven Taliban fighters and injured 10 others in Dawlatabad district of the northern Faryab province and recaptured two checkpoints from the insurgent group over the past 24 hours, provincial police chief Sayed Agha Andarabi told local media on Saturday.


Meanwhile, armed men, obviously Taliban militants, abducted 15 de-miners in the western Herat province Nick Martin Jersey , spokesman for the provincial government Jilani Farhad said Saturday.


""Fifteen personnel of a mine clearance agency were on their way to Kohsan district on Friday when a group of unidentified armed people kidnapped them on Islam Qala road and took them to unknown location,"" Farhad told Xinhua.


Without identifying the demining agency, the official, however, blamed Taliban militants for the abduction. Taliban militants have yet to make comment.

CAIRO, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Arab Parliament Speaker Mishaal al-Salami on Thursday urged President of the Iraqi Kurdistan region Masoud Barzani to postpone an independence referendum scheduled for next week.


Salami issued the call in a cable sent to Barzani Julien Davenport Jersey , the Egyptian state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported, quoting a statement issued by the Arab Parliament.


The plebiscite should be replaced by dialogue to reach a compromise guaranteeing the rights of all parties and maintaining the unity and stability of Iraq, Salami said.


Arab Parliament is keen on protecting the rights of the Kurdish people, Salami added.


He also expressed his appreciation of Barzani's contribution to defeating the terror group Islamic State (IS) and his help to the displaced Iraqis who fled to the Kurdistan region as IS militants occupied their cities.


On June 7, Barzani announced his intention to hold a referendum on Sept. 25 on seeking independence of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region from Iraq.


The international community, especially Iraq's neighboring countries such as Iran Zach Cunningham Jersey , Turkey and Syria, have voiced strong opposition to the move, fearing it would undermine Iraq's territorial integrity and destabilize the region by inspiring the huge Kurdish population in their own country to follow suit.


The Iraqi government has warned that it could use force if the referendum leads to violence.


After Barzani refused their repeated calls to call off the referendum, Iraq, Iran and Turkey agreed on Thursday to take countermeasures if the Kurds go ahead with the referendum next week.
