When you setup QuickBooks Desktop for multi-user network operations it is imperative to configure windows firewall on all computers. Perform the following steps to configure: 1. Gain access to Windows Firewall Settings. 2. Then click on Outbound Rules, and New Rule. 3. Choose Ports and click Next. 4. Choose TCP for the question 'Does the rule apply to TCP or UDP’ 5. Click the icon next to local ports: under the question 'Does this rule apply to all local ports or specific local ports? 6. In the quickbooks ports field enter the following information: QuickBooks Desktop 2016: 8019, 56726, 55368-55372 7. Click Next and select Allow the Connection. 8. Enter a name in the name field, then click Next. 9. Repeat the aforementioned steps but select Inbound Rules this time. 10. After setting up the firewall on all computers, test connectivity by opening up QuickBooks in Multi-user mode.
