The Asics Sneakers Men fan-favorite colorway dresses everything from the silhouette’s luxe leather and mesh constructed upper all the way down to its rigged midsole and rubber outsole. Stitching, lacing and ASICS branding are also done up in the dark tone, while additional hits of 3M reflective material have been added to the lacing system for a final touch.
Titled the Asics Sneakers Sale and recently premiered by KITH frontman Ronnie Fieg, the special GEL-Kayano features the bold colorblocking and athletically-inclined accents his brand is known for. The white mesh base and mixed material overlays are dressed with a bold medley of warm pastel hues, ranging from teal to red, orange, and blue for a generous dose of warm weather style. Special Fieg branding is present on both the medial heel and insoles, while down below a GEL and Duomax-equipped midsole with further bright-colored detailing ensures that the comfort stacks up to the look.
The Asics Sneakers Black is the newest iteration in ASICS’ ever-evolving performance KAYANO line. Launched in 1993 by designer and namesake Toshikazu Kayano, the franchise is guided by the Japanese philosophy of kaizen, which refers to gradual improvement. Each model continues on from its predecessor, offering runners new levels of improved performance and fit.
This time, the designer will be working on the iconic Japanese sportswear brand’s recently relaunched Asics Gel-Kayano 5 OG Mid Grey. The project is apparently dubbed “Oasis,” as shared by Fieg himself on Instagram. Originally released in 1999, the GEL-Kayano 5 was the fifth iteration of lead sneaker designer Toshikazu Kayano’s complete reimagining of ASICS’ GEL running technology in sneaker form.
