You can not say that don't want easyscape if most of them utilize third party clients and bitched which jagex attempted to take them away and threatened that they'd quit, I dunno if you have ever used runelite, but it's literally, easyscape.Just speaking for myself but I read through their massive design record and I thought that it was a trash concept - like a half baked mixture between divination & invention & runecrafting with like 1/10th of the scope. You're correct, and a lot of it could be thrown to crafting without tinkering and have the same effect.
Toolbelt and the cash pouch possess a massive influence on Runescape game. You may like the advantage that they bring, do not do not pretend like that is a few vanilla, QoL update like it does not invalidate 3 dozen items and also free up a whole lot of inventory space for a multitude of activities. They just take up inventory space. You become limited to 27 pub trips into the anvil. Quests that need the items, you have less room. In building you need space for saw, a hammer, and coins for the butler, restricting planks you are able to hold. The things are combined with items to make other products.
The best reason for me however, and that I feel for others, is that these basic tools are given an actual physical presence by it. Create them and your character has to get down, although you don't just build things together. They have weight, they simply take up space, and you can't do certain things with them. It's many small items like this that help make the world feel alive and real.
OSRS is Jagex fucking up so badly with all the trainwreck that was EoC on launch's dire result. They ask their opinion on everything and should listen to the neighborhood. I do not really think of any other JMods as quality when it comes to RS3 aside from Mod Raven. Every MTX-related JMod is trash tier. Thinking of what could be if resources weren't wasted in their own horseshit annoys me a great deal.
